Bridging the gap between the chassis and the ground, the Saturn Wheels has the sole responsibility of bringing the vehicle to places. Furthermore, it has evolved to contributing to a flat out vehicle performance while providing safety to the passenger's riding comfort. Apart form its functions, the wheels prove to be a vital denomintaor in raising the aesthetic styling of a Saturn.

And through time, wheels have undergone innovative modifications not only for toughness but for added traction in the enhance performance of the vehicle. Composed mainly of rubber, Saturn Wheels comes in a host of variety depending on the type of usage and purpose the driver wants to make. The steel wheel, for one, is most used option around. It consists of several sheets of steel, stamped into shape and typically welded together. Although strong, they are considerably heavy in weight. The rally wheel, on the other hand, are specialized steel wheels that are comprised of a heavier dose of steel inside. As the inner portion of a steel wheel is generally welded to the rim along its entire circumference, the rally wheel's inner portion is cut to resemble the spokes of a mag wheel, and is welded accordingly.

Made from aluminum or alloy, mag wheels are cast or milled wheels made of magnesium and are noted for their lightweight and strength. There is a downside to this, though---they catch fire easily and are very difficult to put out. Though it performs better than aluminum, it is flammable that piles of shavings tend to burst into flames when they get too hot. Spoke wheels (having some 100 spokes) are still being used today among roadsters and low-riders. Relatively lighter, these types of Saturn Wheels are considerably strong. But what's more prominent is that they give out that retro look in a vehicle.

These Saturn Wheels are snugged fit to the hub through a combination of lug bolts, or studs, as well as lug nuts. These studs are mounted to the hub, which is attached to a hub carrier or suspension upright. The Saturn Wheel has holes to match these studs, then eventually placed over them. Then, the lug nuts are applied and tightened to the proper tension.

With the advent of customizing the features of the ride, the Saturn Wheels has not been spared from such modification. Customized wheels, or rims, provide the styling and comes in a wide range of specifications depending on the needs of the owner. In fact, there are chrome-finished rims that come with “spinners,” or bear-mounted, free spinnings discs which rotates thanks to inertia after the vehicle is stopped.
